Welcome to Glad Tidings, Hurricane WV!

GT understands how hard it is to simplify the complicated in a fast-paced world. We have three objectives for those who desire to know the Lord in a very real and personal way. We want to guide you through these three life changing areas and bring you into a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We believe that by Loving God and creating an atmosphere of intimacy with Christ, through heartfelt prayer and worship, we will learn to know God better. This will help us to Love People by developing them spiritually  through the teaching of God’s word.  When we grow in Christ, we then can reach out beyond ourselves to the lost, the hurting or just the misplaced.

We do this by Loving Our Community. When we serve others, we become the hands and feet of Christ. If you’re looking for a place that is simple and yet real, GT is the church for you.  Come and join us!

We’re on the radio!

Rebekah Goff-Jarrell is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God. She has been the Sr. Pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Hurricane WV for 13 years.  She is married to Brian Jarrell and has 4 children and  7 grandchildren. She is also the Author of her newest book entitled: The God of Uncomfortable Places.

I was born in St. Louis MO. When I was 9 we moved to Australia for my Mom’s employment. We came back to the states when I was 15 where I graduated from Hurricane High School in 2006 and now currently work as a paralegal. When I was younger I was asked to write a missions statement, my mission was to serve The Lord and watch for the day of His return. I still carry that mission on today, and hope to pass that on to others.

OUR VISION

The Lord has been declaring that this church would be like a light house for the lost and wondering, it would lead people to God and help them in the storms of life. It would navigate them away from trouble and be a warning of future events; it would be a welcome light in a dark place, a place of hope and encouragement. (Matthew 5:13-16)

The Lord will build this church with His own Hand, We may be starting out small but God will build a Great wonderful church for our community and the surrounding area.  (Psalms 127:1)

We are to love God with all our hearts and make Him the pursuit of our lives. He is our deepest longing, our most intimate lover, our faithful companion.

To love the Lord our God with all our heart, all our soul and with our entire mind, this is the cry of our heart. (Matthew 22:38-40)

We are committed to loving people, to see them saved, loved, and changed, by Gods mighty power. We want to be a part of that process by allowing God to use us to serve the community we live in and make a difference in the lives of people, doing what ever the spirit leads us to do to be the hands and feet of God to others.

(Matthew 28:19&20)
